Products / Ferrofluid-Damper
At resonance frequency, a stepper motor can cause increased settling time, vibrations and noise generation.
A Ferrofluidic® damper works with a Ferrofluid as a damper medium that dissipates vibration energy to heat by viscous drag.
Such a damper is hermetically sealed. It has a nonmagneetic housing that is attached to a motor shaft.
Inside the housing there is a seismic mass, freely suspended with Ferrofluid. The Ferrofluid couples by viscous drag the mass
to the housing.

A Ferrofluidic® damper is an extremely reliable and precise damping element that causes no loss on the motor torque.
The mounting of a Ferrofluidic® damper is very easy. It's operation is free of maintenance. It can be adapted to specific requirements. Typical applications are X-Y-Z plotter, printer, optical scanner, robots and small machines.
A variety of sizes is available.
